Changes to Immigration Rules from 1 January 2024
- The immigration authorities will not accept new permit applications between 1 January 2024 and 29 February 2024, except those involving residence permits of national interest based on ministerial approval.
- Processing of applications submitted before 1 January 2024 will also be suspended during this period.
- Applications that were submitted before 1 January 2024 will be considered under the previous regulations. Applications will be considered submitted if they have been submitted electronically and fully paid before 31 December 2023.
- Residence permits that are due to expire during this period will be automatically extended until 30 April 2024.
- New applications can be submitted from 1 March 2024.
Please be aware that no applications will be accepted, or permissions issued, during the suspension period.
